The role
Customer.io is hiring a senior backend engineer to build Go distributed systems that help customers send messages at scale. The role is remote for candidates in the EMEA region.
What you will do
- Design and build distributed systems in Go
- Own work from architecture and schema design to deployment and monitoring
- Debug issues with other teams
- Use AI agents for scoped multi-file changes
What they ask for
- 7+ years building scalable distributed systems in Go or a similar statically typed language
- Comfort with cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP)
- Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL
- Experience with observability tooling and production operations
- On-call rotation participation
