The role
Reddit is hiring a Staff Android Engineer for its Brand Ad Formats team, which builds ad formats for brand advertisers with a growing focus on video ads. The role is remote and combines technical leadership with hands-on Android work.
What you will do
- Act as tech lead for Reddit's Video Ads, building the roadmap with Product and Design
- Guide the team on Android best practices and run design reviews for ad formats that scale to millions of users
- Drive the full lifecycle from discovery and prototyping to testing, experiments and deployment
- Mentor senior engineers across teams and set standards for design, testing and operations
What they ask for
- 8+ years of software engineering experience at staff level
- 3+ years of deep Kotlin and modern Android architecture, with 4+ Android projects shipped to production
- Prior ad tech or rich-media mobile experience
- Track record of user-facing features where UI polish and performance matter
- Ability to build fault-tolerant client systems in data-heavy environments
- Experience with GenAI tools for engineering productivity
- Experiment analysis with tools such as BigQuery, HEX or Firebase
- BS in computer science or equivalent practical experience; comfortable working fully remote
