The role
The company is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer for the Orbit team, which builds a knowledge graph data service used by agents and analytics across the company.com, Dedicated and Self-Managed. The team is small and Rust-first.
What you will do
- Design, build and operate Orbit backend services, mainly in Rust, in a cloud-native environment
- Improve deployment, monitoring and operations using Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform and AWS or GCP
- Automate recurring operational work such as upgrades, recovery and capacity management
- Improve metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and alerts, and work on incident readiness and runbooks
- Work on the graph query engine, indexing pipelines, storage integrations and API and MCP surfaces
What they ask for
- Production backend experience with strong Rust, or clear ability to ramp up quickly
- Distributed-systems design experience: concurrency, failure handling, consistency, multi-tenant isolation
- Hands-on AWS or GCP knowledge, including networking, IAM and object storage
- Experience deploying and troubleshooting on Kubernetes with Helm
- Infrastructure as code experience, such as Terraform
- Experience improving reliability, observability and on-call readiness
- Strong system design and written communication; works autonomously in ambiguity
