The role
The company is hiring an Intermediate Software Engineer for its Vulnerability Management team, building the security workflows the company Ultimate customers use to triage and act on vulnerabilities. The work is mostly Ruby on Rails backend in a fullstack team; the company is all-remote.
What you will do
- Develop and maintain backend features for vulnerability management workflows
- Ship features with minimal guidance and collaborate on larger projects
- Improve performance, reliability and scalability of security data ingestion and reporting
- Work with frontend engineers, product managers and designers, contributing across the stack when needed
- Review code and respond promptly to community contributions
- Fix technical debt and take part in on-call rotations
What they ask for
- Experience building and maintaining backend applications with Ruby on Rails
- Experience delivering software as part of a larger engineering team
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Ability to investigate technical problems and reach a practical resolution
- Clear communication in a distributed team
- Helpful: JavaScript or Vue.js, Elasticsearch, graph databases, application security
