The role
The company is hiring a Senior Staff Machine Learning Scientist on its Assets team to lead research in computer vision, multimodal understanding and visual generation. Remote-first for the United States and British Columbia and Ontario in Canada.
What you will do
- Lead research initiatives in computer vision, multimodal understanding and visual generation
- Develop models and training methods for image and video understanding, search, segmentation, detection and generation
- Train and optimize large-scale vision and multimodal foundation models
- Turn research into production-ready systems with applied scientists, ML engineers and product teams
- Set technical direction for vision and multimodal AI
- Mentor scientists and engineers
What they ask for
- 8+ years of industry or research experience, or equivalent impact, in computer vision or multimodal ML
- Deep expertise in representation learning, visual recognition, generation and large-scale training
- Experience with transformers, diffusion models and contrastive learning
- Strong Python and PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Advanced degree in a related field, PhD strongly preferred
- Technical leadership and mentoring experience
- Based in the US or in BC or ON, Canada
