The role
The company is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer for its Developer Experience group, which serves six globally distributed teams. The role finds and removes friction in engineering workflows, with Kubernetes-based developer platform work in Go and Ruby. The company roles are remote, with some location limits.
What you will do
- Split time between hands-on coding in Ruby and Go and designing scalable solutions
- Build platform capabilities that help teams deploy and operate services on Kubernetes
- Define reusable service templates, deployment workflows and operational guardrails
- Build development, CI and test environments that mirror production Kubernetes behavior
- Make environment bring-up and teardown deterministic and reproducible
- Partner with infrastructure and service teams on rollout safety and observability
What they ask for
- Deep experience building developer tooling, DevEx platforms, testing frameworks or CI/CD systems at scale
- Strong hands-on Go for production services, CLI tools or platform tooling
- Practical Kubernetes experience running production workloads
- Helm-based release management and multi-cluster context handling
- Experience integrating third-party operators such as CloudNativePG and cert-manager
- Ruby experience is valuable
