The role
The company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its AI Labs & Foundations team, which builds Cart Assistant, voice AI and the systems behind them. The role covers production AI systems used by millions of customers. The posting describes a remote role under a flex-first policy.
What you will do
- Design, build and operate production AI systems, including Cart Assistant and voice AI
- Build foundations such as embedding infrastructure, voice AI pipelines and client-facing components
- Integrate foundation models through APIs and open-source frameworks, using RAG and vector search where fitting
- Own projects from design to deployment, observability and iteration on reliability, latency and cost
- Work with product, design, data science and infrastructure partners
- Promote best practices for production AI/ML engineering
What they ask for
- Senior engineer who has built, shipped and operated production systems at scale
- Hands-on production AI/ML experience, such as shipping LLM features or integrating model APIs
- Experience owning services with CI/CD, testing, observability and on-call
- Experience in Go, Python or TypeScript
- Strong cross-discipline communication
- Preferred: 5 to 8+ years of experience and 0-to-1 work
- Preferred: conversational agents, STT/TTS, RAG with vector databases, AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka
