The role
Mercury, a fintech company, is hiring a Senior Data Scientist focused on machine learning for its Risk team. The team detects and mitigates fraud and monitors customers for financial crime risk. Pay ranges are given for employees in the US and Canada.
What you will do
- Build, validate and deploy machine learning models that prevent fraud in real time
- Support model reproducibility through documentation, testing and monitoring
- Ensure data quality and reliability across pipelines and tools
- Work with Risk Strategy on model inputs and applications
- Work with Engineering on deployment and observability
What they ask for
- 5+ years analyzing large datasets, including 3+ years of ML experience
- Proficiency in SQL, including working with imperfect data
- Proficiency in Python, statistical modeling and machine learning
- Experience deploying and monitoring ML models in production
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Nice to have: 1+ year of risk experience, LLM/GenAI familiarity, dbt, model governance
