The role
Coinbase is hiring a Senior IT Automation Engineer for its IT Tooling team, which builds automations for IT support operations such as the Ask IT bot, ticket triage and onboarding. Coinbase is remote-first, with quarterly in-person gatherings.
What you will do
- Own the technical architecture of IT Tooling automations across n8n, Airflow, Temporal and Jira
- Set architecture standards and code review practices
- Act as technical lead on complex automation projects from design to production
- Work with Security, Corporate Engineering and IAM to resolve technical blockers
- Build shared frameworks and reusable components
- Write architecture documentation and decision records
What they ask for
- 5+ years in IT engineering, automation or systems engineering
- Deep experience building automations with n8n, Airflow, Temporal, Jira Automation or Workato
- Git-based workflows including branching, CI/CD and code review
- Working knowledge of Okta, Slack API and Google Workspace administration
- Ability to turn loosely scoped problems into production-ready specifications
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight
