The role
Samsara's Safety AI team is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to build the cloud-side ML backend for its AI dash cameras. The role turns trained models into low-latency, fleet-scale safety features. Open to residents of the US or Canada.
What you will do
- Build low-latency ML APIs that bring Safety AI model outputs into cloud applications
- Build data pipelines for backtesting, shadow and online evaluation
- Productionize and optimize serving of model artifacts from applied scientists
- Process large volumes of camera and sensor telematics data for execution and dataset curation
- Monitor model drift, precision, recall and latency in production
- Work with firmware, platform and product teams on edge-to-cloud execution
What they ask for
- 6+ years as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar, shipping models to production
- Proficiency in languages such as C++, Go, Java, Python or Scala
- Experience with ML tools such as Ray Serve, MLflow, Grafana, PyTorch and Spark
- Experience refining deployed models using customer feedback loops
- Backend or full-stack development comfort
- BS or MS in computer science or a related field
- Residence in the US or Canada
