The role
Coinbase is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer for the ML Platform team in its Platform group. The role builds infrastructure for feature engineering, model training and serving used for fraud detection, personalization and blockchain analysis. Coinbase is remote-first with quarterly in-person sessions.
What you will do
- Own the design and reliability of inference infrastructure for predictive models and LLMs
- Build low-latency streaming pipelines that deliver fresh feature data to production models
- Improve distributed training infrastructure so ML engineers can process large data volumes
- Build observability tooling that tracks data quality entering models and detects degradation
- Mentor junior engineers on production-grade software
What they ask for
- 5+ years as a software engineer, owning distributed systems in production
- Experience building and running low-latency data or ML infrastructure such as streaming, online serving or distributed training
- Track record of mentoring through code and design reviews
- Familiarity with feature stores, model serving frameworks and training orchestration
- Willing to attend quarterly in-person sessions
