The role
Reddit is hiring a Senior Staff Machine Learning Systems Engineer for its Ads ML Platform team. You would set technical strategy for the tooling ML engineers use to build features, generate training data and run experiments. Remote work is possible in countries where Reddit has a physical presence.
What you will do
- Own the technical strategy for the Ads ML engineer lifecycle, starting with feature development and training iteration
- Align Ads ML platform priorities with Reddit's wider ML Platform vision
- Define architecture and standards for feature and training-data systems, including batch and streaming, backfills, lineage and quality
- Build platform abstractions and workflow automation that make ML development faster and more self-service
- Later extend the strategy into serving and online experimentation
- Mentor staff and senior engineers
What they ask for
- 8+ years in infrastructure, distributed systems, ML platforms, data platforms or large-scale backend
- 4+ years building or running production ML infrastructure, feature platforms or data pipelines
- Led multi-team platform initiatives from strategy to adoption
- Built platforms used directly by ML engineers or data scientists
- Experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka, Ray, Airflow, Iceberg, Kubernetes, BigQuery, Snowflake or Databricks
- Ability to influence through RFCs, design reviews and decision frameworks
