The role
Reddit is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer for its Ads Creative Effectiveness team, which builds generative AI and predictive products that help advertisers create ad creative. The work covers image, video and copy generation and editing tools.
What you will do
- Build generation pipelines for ads that preserve products, fonts, logos and brand assets using techniques such as IP-Adapters and LoRAs
- Build image and video editing features such as smart-crop, inpainting, outpainting, resizing and style transfer
- Fine-tune vision-language models using ad performance metrics such as CTR and CVR
- Build filtering and safety systems against non-compliant, unsafe or copyright-infringing output
- Work with Product, Sales, Policy, UX and other Ads ML teams to bring features into Ad Manager
What they ask for
- Hands-on experience with tree models, neural networks, ranking and LLM or VLM fine-tuning with RLHF
- Comfort with uplift metrics, variance and experimentation setups for generative systems
- Understanding of ad auctions and advertiser pain points
- Comfort with ambiguity in a fast-moving, startup-like team
- Ability to explain ML trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
- Prior work on ad creative tooling such as image generators or headline generators
