The role
Coinbase is hiring a staff machine learning engineer for CX Intelligence, the ML layer behind its customer support products such as Help Center, chat and voice. You would design production ML systems that improve resolution quality, automation and safety. The company is remote-first.
What you will do
- Own design and delivery of production ML systems using LLMs, deep learning, graph neural networks and classical ML
- Define roadmaps with leadership and turn them into quarterly plans with measurable outcomes
- Lead ML projects end-to-end, from architecture to production
- Build evaluation pipelines and data workflows in tested Python
- Mentor engineers and set standards for design, testing and observability
- Lead design reviews on security, responsible AI and model quality
What they ask for
- 8+ years in machine learning and software engineering running production ML systems
- Hands-on expertise in LLMs, deep learning, graph neural networks, gradient-boosted trees or regression
- Strong knowledge of NLP, information retrieval, data mining or advanced statistics
- Strong Python skills with maintainable, well-tested production code
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading design reviews
