The role
Reddit is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to provide technical leadership for its Ads Retrieval ML team, which builds models that pick candidate ads for users. The role is fully remote.
What you will do
- Set the technical direction and multi-year roadmap for ads retrieval modeling
- Design and launch candidate-generation and retrieval models for ad surfaces
- Apply two-tower models, embeddings, sequence models and graph methods where they add value
- Work with approximate nearest-neighbor retrieval, weighing recall, latency and cost
- Lead offline analysis and online experiments
- Write design docs, review code and mentor ML engineers
What they ask for
- 7+ years of industry experience shipping applied ML products
- Deep experience in information retrieval, candidate generation, recommenders or ranking
- Knowledge of embeddings, two-tower models, approximate nearest-neighbor search and multi-stage retrieval
- Experience training and deploying deep models with TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar
- Strong experimental design and model evaluation
- Large-scale behavioral data and feature pipeline experience
- Technical leadership and mentoring experience
