The role
Supabase is hiring an AI Platform Engineer to build the execution layer for its internal AI systems, as the only engineer on a new central team. The platform runs agents with review gates, evaluation and governance. Fully remote; Supabase hires globally.
What you will do
- Ship the agent platform: event-triggered queue, model-agnostic runtime, durable state, human review gate, rollback and run logging
- Build the evaluation layer, including golden test suites and a CI gate that blocks regressions
- Build and register agents for reporting, drafting, triage and question-answering
- Enforce governance in code: risk tiers, least-privilege credentials, tool-permission gates and audit logs
- Design how the system contacts people, with an interruption budget and message bundling
- Build platform tooling and compute team-level operating measures from production data
What they ask for
- Ability to work as the only engineer on a platform and own its infrastructure end to end
- Ability to close open architecture decisions yourself, such as choosing the agent runtime
- Experience building or running AI agent systems with evaluation and safety controls
- Comfort designing permission and governance controls that enforce rules in code
