The role
The company, publisher of Ubuntu, is hiring an Engineering Manager for its Security Standards and Hardening team. The team certifies Ubuntu components against standards such as FIPS, CIS, STIG and FedRAMP. The company is remote-first and hires globally.
What you will do
- Lead and develop a team of engineers from graduate to senior level, with coaching and career feedback
- Measure team health and put disciplined engineering processes in place
- Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners and customers
- Plan and track progress on goals and projects
- Support customers meeting security requirements such as FIPS, CIS, STIG, FedRAMP and the CRA
- Support FIPS 140 cryptographic module and system hardening work with partners such as CIS and DISA
What they ask for
- Experience with FIPS or Common Criteria certified products and the underlying standards
- Experience with DISA-STIG or CIS benchmarks, including audit and remediation tooling such as Compliance as Code
- Solid experience in agile development environments
- Track record of developing and growing people
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling alternative path
- Able to travel twice a year for company events of up to two weeks
