The role
The company is hiring a Security Engineering Manager for the team that handles the security of Ubuntu, the most widely used Linux distribution. The role leads engineers on vulnerability remediation and security projects. Remote at the company.
What you will do
- Lead and develop a team of engineers from graduate to senior level
- Give technical guidance on vulnerability remediation
- Drive new security engineering projects
- Work with upstream open source projects on vulnerability lifecycle handling
- Coach and mentor, and implement disciplined engineering processes
- Represent the team to stakeholders, partners and customers

- Solid background in software development, including support and maintenance
- Mastery of a programming language such as Go, Java, C or Python
- Passion for software and application security
- Solid experience in an agile environment
- Excellent verbal and written English
- Nice to have: understanding of how Linux distributions work, ideally Ubuntu or Debian
