The role
Customer.io, a customer messaging platform, is hiring a GTM AI Engineer to take its go-to-market AI agents from prototype to production. The team has 11 agents running for about 120 users, and this role owns scale and reliability.
What you will do
- Take new agents from first version to production: write evals, harden prompts and tool definitions, clean up prototype code
- Add tracing, logging and monitoring across the agent fleet
- Build and maintain deployment pipelines on Google Cloud, keeping environments consistent
- Own how agents read from and write to databases safely at scale
- Monitor agent behavior in production, triage issues and ship improvements
- Work with the GTM AI team so builders can focus on new agents
What they ask for
- 4+ years in software, platform or infrastructure engineering, ideally at a B2B SaaS company
- Daily terminal use with a GitHub pull request and deploy workflow
- Cloud hosting experience with Kubernetes, VMs or similar; Google Cloud preferred
- Hands-on database administration and experience with agents editing databases
- LLM application experience: prompt engineering, tool calling, evals, agent frameworks
- Ability to direct AI tools and critically review their output
