The role
Supabase is hiring a Platform Engineer for its Compute Capacity team, which owns the capacity plan keeping compute supply ahead of demand across regions. The role is fully remote and the company hires globally.
What you will do
- Help build and maintain the capacity plan across regions and instance families
- Model buffer headroom targets and their cost tradeoffs for review
- Build automation for reservation acquisition, fleet reconciliation and drift detection
- Build metrics and alerting for saturation, reservation coverage, idle buffer and forecast error
- Support intake of large customer commitments, launches and new regions
- Contribute to right-sizing, instance-family migrations and autoscaling work, and join capacity incident response
What they ask for
- 5+ years in infrastructure engineering, SRE, platform or capacity engineering, ideally at SaaS or cloud scale
- Production software experience in languages such as TypeScript, Python or Go
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Pulumi or Terraform
- Observability experience with Prometheus/Grafana, CloudWatch or similar
- Working knowledge of AWS EC2 instance families, purchase options, reservations and quotas
- Some financial fluency on reservation economics and coverage versus cost
- Clear communication with engineers and finance stakeholders
