The role
Coinbase is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for its CX Intelligence team, which owns the multi-agent platform behind Coinbase Chat and the Help Center. You will lead an orchestration layer spanning vendor AI, internal agents and humans. Coinbase is remote-first.
What you will do
- Build the orchestration layer for state, context sharing and intent routing across vendor and internal LLM frameworks
- Build production Python services connecting ML/AI to customer-facing products
- Lead complex ML projects from design through delivery
- Set best practices for system design, coding standards and AI/ML workflows
- Mentor engineers on architecture and AI/ML patterns
- Run design reviews for security, scalability and performance
What they ask for
- 5+ years in machine learning and software engineering, shipping production ML services at scale
- Hands-on with LLMs and frameworks such as LangGraph, LangSmith, Google ADK, Vertex AI or AWS Bedrock
- Deep Python skills with well-tested production code
- Specialized knowledge in NLP, information retrieval, computer vision or statistical modeling
- Ability to write design documents and explain ML architecture to non-technical audiences
