Specialty
The role
Supabase is hiring a Supalite Engineer for the team building Supabase Lite, a lightweight TypeScript implementation of Supabase that runs on SQLite and Postgres. It is a founding role on a new team, fully remote with global hiring.
What you will do
- Grow API compatibility with the Supabase client, backed by conformance tests
- Bring more of the Supabase stack to SQLite
- Build the upgrade path from Supabase Lite to full Supabase
- Own developer experience, including the CLI, local tooling and docs
- Build the hosted offering on a scale-to-zero, near-zero-cost footing
- Work with design partners and engage the open-source community
What they ask for
- Substantial backend or full-stack experience with strong TypeScript, having built or contributed to a backend system, framework or developer platform
- Generalist comfort from API design to storage internals to infrastructure
- Ability to read unfamiliar code, such as GoTrue in Go and PostgREST in Haskell, and match its behavior
- Solid SQL and relational database knowledge, including Postgres and SQLite differences
- Bias toward correctness, using tests and specs
- Comfort owning ambiguous early-stage work in public repositories on a remote async team
- Clear written communication
What they offer
- Fully remote with a co-working allowance
- Equity (ESOP) for every team member
- Tech allowance
- Health insurance covered 100% for employees and 80% for dependents
- Annual company off-site
- Annual education allowance
