The role
Canonical is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to run hundreds of customer private cloud, Kubernetes and application clusters using Python infrastructure-as-code. The role is globally remote.
What you will do
- Operate OpenStack, Kubernetes and software-defined storage for customers, from bare metal up to applications
- Apply Python software engineering to operations, driven by metrics and code
- Practise devsecops across the stack, including for applications on that infrastructure
- Drive upgrades to keep customers on current solutions
- Work in a high-pressure environment with mission-critical customer services
What they ask for
- Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science
- Expertise in Python software development
- Experience with Linux, including networking and storage
- Operational experience
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events of up to two weeks
- Nice to have: OpenStack or Kubernetes operations, public or private cloud management
