The role
Canonical's Information Systems team runs the IT production services used by over 60 million Ubuntu users. This senior role focuses on site reliability and GitOps, automating operations across private and public clouds. Remote, within a global team of SREs.
What you will do
- Drive automation and GitOps as an embedded tech lead in the team
- Develop infrastructure-as-code practice and automate operations across private and public clouds
- Design services the IS team can offer to the organisation as products
- Run Canonical's core services, networks and infrastructure, including time-critical escalations
- Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana and Elasticsearch
- Give developers feedback on how Canonical products behave at scale
What they ask for
- Python development experience on large projects
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration
- Experience deploying cloud infrastructure with code
- Practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing and firewalls
- Hands-on administration of enterprise Linux servers
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in computer science or engineering
- Clear communication in English across email, chat and calls
