The role
Airbnb is hiring a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer for its Growth Platform team, which is building an agentic system for marketing and personalization. Projects include AI content generation, decisioning on audience and channel, and a marketing analyst agent.
What you will do
- Build AI products and features for the agentic growth platform from inception to production, guiding other engineers
- Develop, productionize and operate ML models and pipelines at scale, batch and real-time
- Work with product managers, operations and data scientists to find opportunities and refine ML requirements
- Use in-house and third-party ML tooling to build reusable systems with low-latency serving
- Mentor ML and AI engineers in foundations engineering and help non-ML engineers apply ML
What they ask for
- 12+ years of applied ML/AI industry experience, including MS or PhD
- Strong programming in Scala, Python, Java or C++ plus data engineering skills
- Deep ML knowledge: training/serving skew, A/B testing, feature engineering, neural networks, optimization
- Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, Airflow or equivalent, and Kafka or equivalent
- Experience with architecture of high-scale applications: APIs, data pipelines, efficient algorithms
- Agentic and automation experience is preferred
